GAINESVILLE — Authorities say a 21-year-old aspiring rapper robbed a Gainesville convenience store and shot a clerk with a BB gun to gain “street credibility.”
Police say Steven Gilmore Jr. has confessed to the Friday night robbery. He also confessed to a restaurant robbery that occurred last week.
According to the Gainesville police, Gilmore shot the clerk in the temple with a BB gun during the robbery.
Gilmore is being held in the Alachua County jail on robbery and aggravated battery charges. According to the Gainesville Sun, a 16-year-old accomplice was also arrested.

Tue, May 12, 2009 - 11:15 AMMy last time around the marriage-go-round, due to reasons I shall NOT go into here, my now ex husband got me a beautiful bb gun. It came with these little cartridges and had great range & accuracy. Now, it had been purchased to accomplsh something & it did that admirably. It's purpose served, I stored it away. Then came the call from a long avoided, NOT LOST, relative. I hung up. Locked ALL the doors. Went online. I can now cause irreparable damage and death to anyone I choose. In seconds. With my BB gun.
Next time I answer the phone, I won't hang up. I'll give 2 things... an invitation, & directions.

Tue, May 12, 2009 - 6:55 PMI'm pretty sure by the time you kill someone with a bb gun, you could have also killed them with a wiffle-bat, a roll of toilet paper, or a live trout.
I used to have this little CO2 powered break-top revolver pellet gun. It was awesome but I don't think I would ever consider it a viable weapon of any kind, unless the attacker was a pidgeon? Maybe like in Hitchcock's film 'The Birds'.... yeah!

BB and pellet guns are regulated just like Rifles
Sling shots are banned - period
But you can still have a bow - which if you think about it is a species of sling shot. -
