I definitely put more than one use into foam plugs, but am always curious to find an effective, "non disposable" replacement.

Who says the yellow foam earplugs are disposable? Bullshit! Put them in a sock, tie off the end and wash with your laundry. Pull them out before the dryer or you shorten their life faster. I have two bags in my shooting box. One bag has clean plugs, the other has plugs waiting to be washed. I toss them when they stop swelling up tight.

I use a pair that are designed for swimming. cigarrette butts work well too, although I have only had to do that once at a rock concert.

I use a pair from a former employer,they actually had people come pour a synthetic(sp?) liquid into the ears and when finished was a custome set of ear plugs,they seem to work the best. I'm sure any ear doc would know where to have this done but I have no Idea of the cost involved.

I use (and like) the disposable foam earplugs. Anyone got a recommendation for a non-disposable variety? I've seen a plethora of "high-tech," hard-plastic earplugs on the market and wonder if any of them really work.
