    <summary type="html">Having shot one I don't recommend them.   They have a ballistic that looks like a basketball bounce. &#xD;

Maybe the one with the longer barrel ( that James mentioned)  will shoot straighter.&#xD;
I prefer the Remington 700.  You can drive nails at a mile with it.  I have friends from Albania who insist that the 700 drops when shot over water. This phenom,  in my experience, is just the optical illusion that water creates causing the shooter to aim lower than he otherwise would.</summary>

    <summary type="html">The only .45-70 I have is a H&amp;amp;R Buffalo Classic,and it is longer than my Hawken. It is good round though,I use a 405gr lead when I reload mine,and I have loaded with blackpowder.&#xD;
I have used to hunt everything from coyote to bear with great success, as it has quite a range for a large round.</summary>
