A right not excercised is a right forfeited. Open carry in open-carry states is perfectly legal, and it will get you arrested every time.

A woman acting completely within the law, has become a public nuissance for her lawful actions. How sad.

Well, Try as we might the public can not handle open carrying by anyone especilly a woman. At a soccer game where everyone is there to watch the kids play she takes away from them. I agree that it IS her right but I also agree with the judge who said she should carry concealed.

So this should be a good reason for easier CWP'S. She should have a cwp and carry under her arm or in a leg holster. I do not condemn her for standing up for her rights but she is doing nothing to strengthen the case for Gun owners. Many people who were not against carrying guns in her town are now very against it. You cant push things into peoples faces and expect them to like it. She makes the case for the Brady group and of course they will defend this police chief. She just gave them free publicity and the kind they want. They will paint her as a lunatic , probably take her kids away from her at the advice of some liberal social worker and on and on. This is the kind of thing we as gun owners do NOT want to go in front of the public unless it follows a child killing by a crimminal at a soccer game. She really has no reason that will convince the rest of the soccer moms that her gun is no threat to them. I will guarrantee that the Liberal media will not show her side of this issue but paint her as a nutcase running around with a loaded assault weapon(yea they will call her hand gun an assault weapon). open carry is a very loaded topic/ there are well thought out arguments on either side.

I can't say I'm against the idea of exercising a right that (because it's been neglected for so long) we've all but lost. However, I can't help but wince when I imagine the negative impact it has on the (sheep) people who make up our citizenry.

I've seen a few instances here in the good old People's Republic that actually went really well for the firearm owner. In a few of them, local PDs ended up informing its officers that Open Carry is perfectly legal. However there's a flip side where a regular guy was detained for a few hours by mall security, even though local PD refused to take the incident any farther.

I thought rent-a-cops can't detain you if you refuse to be detained. If they don't have the authority of a police officer, and they keep you trapped in a room, one civillian with a fake badge trapping another civillian in a locked room, that's kidnapping. If they cuff your or use mace, that's aggravated kidnapping and assault.

Personally I support Alaska and Vermont type laws when it comes to CCW

I dont support any cwp laws. I think every law abiding citizen should have the right to carry concealed with out any permit. If that were the case there would be no problem with people and guns. There would be a hell of a lot less crime as well. Michael

allowing the govt to permit ccw... is like asking permission to defend yourself.
That should never be a priveledge.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

#@$!#@$ tribe servers!! I responded to this weeks ago but it got wiped during server maintance.

While I agree that she had a full and legal right to carry (so long as the soccer field is not on a campus) and should have hired a lawyer to sue the city for a civil rights violation under color of law....I still believe that concealed carry is discrete carry. I think that the other parents were foolish Californian immigrants to have even given it a second thought.

I have always carried at my kids soccer games, but I prefer concealed because of the tactical edge it gives me. By the time a bad man sees my gun there'll be a foot of flame coming out the front. Fuck those people, fuck criminals too. We should empty our prisons into Iran.

Wouldn't they just shit their turbans if thousands of convicted felons were suddenly air dropped over their cities. Thousands of criminals in orange jumpsuits, parachuting down from thousands of aircraft. It'd probably take a day or two to drop 'em all.

Of course that'd be violating someone's civil rights (prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment.)

            Yeah, criminals and civil rights.

In some places, criminals are not considered civil and so do not qualify for a number of rights enjoyed by their victims.... But heaven help us if we deny our rapists the right to watch free cable television, free gym membership, free education, three square meals a day...
